The expo is collaborating with Rod Kight, Owner of Kight Law Office and Author of Kight on Cannabis, who warned North Carolina’s hemp industry that as of June 30, 2022, all forms of cannabis will be considered illegal marijuana with no apparent exception for hemp if immediate action is not taken.
The #KeepHempLegal campaign, created by MACE Media Group, aims to bring together Business Owners, Hemp organizations, Manufacturers, Retailers, and Cultivators to advocate for the legality of Hemp in the state of North Carolina under one roof. “We’ve contacted several businesses and organizations in North Carolina and it’s amazing to see that they’re all advocating for the legality of Hemp… but they’re not doing it together.” Says COO of MACE Media Group, Graciela Moreno. “So, after several meetings with key figures in the state, we decided to lead the campaign and invite those who have been actively writing petitions, calling their politicians, and gathering lobbyists to join us in late June at our event to get on the same page and create one unified voice.”
The upcoming event, happening June 23rd through the 24th, will feature two Keynote presentations. Rod Kight, Esq, will be live streamed from Mexico to give his Keynote presentation on, “Hemp Products in North Carolina- Peril or Progress?”. In this presentation, attorney Rod Kight will discuss the rapidly evolving legal landscape in North Carolina regarding hemp products containing cannabinoids such as CBD, delta-8 THC, HHC, CBN, THCV, and CBG. At this time, North Carolina’s hemp laws are set to expire at the end of June. Rod will discuss what this means, what is being done to fix it, and what to expect if North Carolina allows its hemp laws to lapse. You will hear up to date information on hemp law in North Carolina, an analysis of how North Carolina fits into the national debate regarding impairing cannabinoids, and practical approaches to mitigate risk in this sector. The second Keynote presenter, Dr. Annabelle Manalo, Founder & Chief Scientific Officer at Masaya Medical, will share a remarkable story of how CBD alone saved her son’s life.
The Expo will also consist of an exhibit floor with exhibitors, showcasing their latest Delta 8 THC, Hemp-Derived Delta 9 THC, CBD, and other minor cannabinoid products in the industry. In the heart of the exhibit floor, MACE Media Group will introduce its new Keynote Theater.
