Thanks to a loophole in the 2018 Farm Bill, Delta- Thanks to a loophole in the 2018 Farm Bill, Delta-9 (D9) THC products are now legally available, with certain limitations. The 2018 Farm Bill, which legalized and regulated the cultivation, production, and sale of hemp-based CBD products, left a lot of ambiguity about cannabis legalization. With the passage of this bill into law, Delta-8 THC, a hemp-derived sister chemical to Delta-9 THC with a lesser intoxicating effect, exploded onto the market. But the Farm Bill also left a small loophole that cannabis manufacturers can now take advantage of.The Farm Bill OmissionWhile the 2018 Farm Bill opened the door for hemp-based products, it also allowed for D9 to be permitted only in quantities less than 0.3 percent. As a point of reference, a non-alcoholic beer has 0.4 percent alcohol by volume.

As the processes of cannabinoid extraction continu As the processes of cannabinoid extraction continue to evolve, extractors are finding ways to fine-tune those processes. It’s important to understand how tuning your extraction equipment can impact your final product. The settings you use on your extraction equipment will alter the chemical profiles of your extract. This is similar to how extraction protocols impact the chemical profiles of cannabis extracts.
What Does Tuning Extraction Technology Mean?

THC remediation can be done in numerous ways: reverse-phase chromatography, high-performance liquid chromatography, centrifugal partition chromatography, counter-current chromatography, superfluid chromatography, crystallization, dilution, and THC degradation.

In short, chromatography and THC degradation are the two most common methods of THC remediation. While these methods have proven to be effective, they do have a couple of imperfections worth mentioning.

However, with the estimated start-up costs of $400,000-$800,000 for a single extraction lab, it is important to evaluate the risks of going into business. Everything from local regulation to personnel consideration determines the final product of botanical extraction. By evaluating all the differences in costs, investors can make informed decisions about how to customize their extraction lab to suit their purposes.
Introductory Costs
This includes details like land, sourcing, and infrastructure. Some extraction labs choose to be the outsourced botanical extractors for suppliers of the organic material. From this perspective the upfront costs are much lower as you don’t have to invest in greenhouses, botanical development and the processing of the raw material before it arrives at the laboratory.
